About the Provider
A native Washingtonian, Dr. Adelson attended Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda. He received his BA from Haverford College in 1978 and his MD from the University of Maryland in 1982.
After completing his internship in internal medicine at the Kaiser Hospital in Oakland, CA he returned to Washington, DC for his residency training in Ophthalmology at the Washington Hospital Center. He then completed a fellowship in glaucoma at the Scheie Eye Institute of the University of Pennsylvania and has been practicing in the Washington area since 1988. He specializes in glaucoma and cataracts, and teaches the Georgetown/ Washington Hospital Center residents in glaucoma treatment and surgery.
He is a Washingtonian Magazine Top Doctor and received the Professional Service Award from The Prevention of Blindness Society of the Washington Metropolitan Area in 2016.
